Description
The
American Meteorological Society has solicited calls for their Early Career
Awards in atmospheric sciences. Two awards will be given in recognition of
research achievement by an early career research, defined as someone within 10
years of having earned their highest graduate degree or within 15 years of their
baccalaureate. Consideration will also be given to those who are still in the
early stage of their careers but have seen interruptions for up to 5-10 years by
family leaves, military service, and the like. The two awards given this year
are:
Henry
G. Houghton Award – Early Career:
The Henry G. Houghton Award is given to an individual in recognition of
research achievement in the fields of physical meteorology, physical
climatology, atmospheric chemistry, or
hydrology.
Clarence
Leroy Meisinger Award – Early
Career:
The Clarence Leroy Meisinger Award is given to an
individual in recognition of research achievement that concerns the observation,
theory, and modeling of atmospheric motions on all scales. This scope includes
the dynamical explanation of either contemporary climate patterns with their
anomalous fluctuations or long-term climate changes and
trends.

deadline.
