(FOA)-Dog
Training and Behavior Research Grants; April 20, 2020
Agency
Association
of Profession Dog Trainers Foundation
Description
The
mission of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) Foundation is to
provide funding for applied scientific research on dog training and behavior
and to further increase the knowledge base of the dog training
profession.
To
that end, APDT welcomes applications for undergraduate, graduate, and faculty
academic research in fields related to applied dog training and behavior,
including behavior analysis, ethology, and cognition. Preference will be given
to proposals that contain research questions that have practical application
for professional dog trainers and behavior consultants, as well as proposals
that include collaboration with the dog training and behavior community,
specifically companion dog trainers who work with dog owners. The foundation
will also accept proposals that create canine science outreach and education
opportunities. Up to five grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded through the
program.
To
be eligible, applicants must be an accredited degree-granting college or
university with nonprofit status and award degrees at the baccalaureate level
or above, or a research institution with nonprofit
status.
