Description

The DOE SC program in Biological and Environmental Research (BER) hereby announces its interest in receiving applications for research in Subsurface Biogeochemical Research (SBR). The goal of the SBR program is to advance a robust predictive understanding of how watersheds function as integrated hydro-biogeochemical systems and how these systems respond to perturbations caused by changes in water availability and quality, contaminant release, nutrient cycling, land-use, vegetation cover, and snowmelt timing. This FOA will consider Standard and Exploratory applications that focus on measurements, experiments, and modeling to provide improved quantitative and predictive understanding of how hydro-biogeochemical processes function in watershed systems. SBR is seeking research applications on topics in the following areas:

a)    Ecohydrology and Hydro-biogeochemistry, and

b)    Geochemistry and Biogeochemistry.
