Agency

Department of Health and Human Services

Administration for Children and Families

Description

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to establish one National Quality Improvement Center for Family-Centered Reunification (QICR) to implement and evaluate a set of practices and interventions for the timely, stable, and lasting reunification of families. The QICR will assist in preserving and nurturing critical parent-child relationships as well as meaningful, supportive connections of children and families. This demonstration grant will be administered through a cooperative agreement that will install, implement, and evaluate the selected practices and interventions in five to seven project sites.

The QICR will secure strong partnerships needed for effective and efficient selection of practices and interventions, program implementation, and evaluation activities to include the local public child welfare agencies. The QICR must meaningfully engage birth parents, foster parents, relatives, youth, and alumni of foster care who have lived foster care experience throughout the project.
