(FOA)-Limited Submission – DOE – Building EPSCoR-State/National Laboratory Partnerships (DE-FOA-0002215); January 16, 2020

 

Purpose: The U. S. Department of Energy's (DOE’s) Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) program announces its interest in receiving applications for building EPSCoR-State/DOE-National Laboratory Partnerships. These partnerships are to advance fundamental, early-stage energy research collaborations with the DOE national laboratories (http://www.energy.gov/about-national-labs).

 

The collaborative research must address early stage scientific research in the physical, biological, or engineering sciences. Applicants are advised of the following areas of additional interest: Quantum Information Science, Microelectronics, Data Science/Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Energy Storage, and Plastics Recycling.

 

Eligibility: Entities located within the following jurisdictions are eligible to apply under this FOA: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Virgin Islands, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

 

Multiple EPSCoR institutions may collaborate on an application with one institution as the lead.

Funding Amount/Project Period:  $250,000 per year for 2 to 3 years

Internal Competition: To participate in the university’s selection process,please upload the following,assembled into a single PDF file, to the Office of the Vice President for Research via this portal with a copy to your Associate Dean for Research by December 17, 2019:

 

·         Names and departments or affiliations of the Project Director and other key personnel or partners from other EPSCoR institutions;

·         Title of program and/or funding opportunity announcement number;

·         Brief project description (2 pages maximum), including details on the DOE national laboratory partner and the steps taken to establish the collaboration with the national laboratory.

·         Brief biographical sketch

 

A committee will be convened to review the material and make a recommendation.
