(FOA)-UK-CARES
Faculty Fellows in Science Communication; May 11, 2020
The
UK Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Sciences (UK-CARES) is
pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the third cohort of Faculty
Fellows in Science Communication.
This
year-long program is designed to provide faculty with skills training for
communicating science to a broader audience, leading to enhanced capability for
outreach and success in research, teaching, and service. Faculty at UK and other
Kentucky colleges, universities, vocational/trade schools or high schools with
interest in environmental health science and education in Appalachia are
eligible to apply.
Participating
as a Fellow in Science Communication is a great opportunity for faculty to
enhance their research and service expectations for promotion and/or tenure,
career advancement, or professional development by gaining access to community
partners in the Appalachian region and networking with UK-CARES faculty, leading
to potential opportunities for funding through the UK-CARES Pilot Program. For
more information, click the Fellows flyer.
We
invite you to nominate faculty with an interest in environmental health science.
Interested applicants are also encouraged to self-nominate or to ask a mentor or
administrator to make the nomination.
First-round
nominations are due no later than May 11, 2020.

questions, please contact Kelly Kennoy at Kelly.Kennoy@uky.edu
