Chemical Society - WCC Rising Star Award; June 15, 2020

Founded
in 1876 and chartered by the U.S. Congress, the mission of the American
Chemical Society is to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its
practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people.
To
advance this mission, the society is inviting nominations for the WCC Rising
Star Award. The award recognizes up to ten outstanding individuals approaching
the midpoint of their careers who have demonstrated outstanding promise for
contributions to their respective fields and includes an opportunity to present
contributions at a WCC-sponsored symposium at the spring ACS national meeting;
a $1,000 stipend to cover spring national meeting travel expenses; and
visibility and networking opportunities at the spring national
meeting.
The
award is open to all individual ACS members in chemistry and chemical
engineering working in academic, industrial, government, nonprofit, or other
employment sectors. Candidates should be no more than fifteen years past
receipt of their terminal scientific degree and have demonstrated outstanding
promise for contributions to their respective fields.
Self-nominations
are allowed, and the nominator need not be an ACS member.
