Reads Capacity Program (SOL-OAA-14-000043); January 31, 2014
The
purpose of the LAC Reads Capacity Program is to increase the impact, scale, and
sustainability of early grade reading interventions in the LAC region through
the development of state-of-the-art knowledge resources and the provision of
technical assistance to host country governments, and other selected key
stakeholders, to enhance their efforts to boost early grade reading outcomes,
particularly for disadvantaged children. Working in collaboration with USAID’s
bilateral missions, the program will facilitate stakeholder understanding and
application of evidence-based, context appropriate, approaches to improving
early grade reading.
Amount
of Award: USAID is
contemplating awarding a single Cooperative Agreement totaling approximately
$3,000,000 per year for a five-year program, for a total amount not to exceed
$15,000,000. The applicant is required
to provide a cost share. The minimum
allowable amount is 10 percent of the total budget.
Limited Submission:
Organizations may submit only one (1) application for the
Cooperative Agreement.

applicants must notify the Proposal Development Office (PDO@uky.edu or 257-2861) of
intent to apply by Friday, January 31, 2014.
Include an estimated budget with match and
potential sources of funding for that match.
Note: Because of ongoing
commitments, the Office of the Vice President for Research is unable to provide
matching funds.

is March 14, 2014.
