Description

 

The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) identifies scientific and technical areas of interest for research and/or exploratory development. The first step will be the submission of a concept paper. Offerors that submit concept papers that are consistent with the intent of the BAA, and are of interest to the Government will be invited to submit a proposal (step two). Concept papers will be accepted continuously through 28 February 2020. The BAA technical areas of interest are divided into the following groups:

 

A. Combat Feeding Equipment and Systems (objectives focus on combat food service equipment for individual and group feeding);

 

B. Combat Ration Research and Development;

 

C. Warfighter Systems Technologies (objectives focus on ballistic protection for individuals, integrated protective headborne equipment and injury diagnostic/assessment tools, modular personnel protection equipment (MPPE) and injury diagnostic/assessment tools, chemical/biological protection for individuals, flame and thermal protection for the individual soldier, biotechnology, counter surveillance, body-worn interactive materials, body-worn systems, hand held devices, and smart-lightweight electronic components/modules for soldier protection, knowledge management and cognitive improvement, biomechanics; materials nanotechnology; anthropometry; advanced protection, integration technologies/system and assessment methods; warrior performance; soldier power sources, power and data distribution management; future warrior technology integration; technology assessment and simulation tools; ecological approach to warfighter survivability, perception-action-cognition; tactical medical equipment and systems; integrated sound, light and blast management for the ears and eyes; soldier centric information portrayal and management technologies;

 

D. Expeditionary Basing, Collective Protection and Field Service Technologies (objectives focus on research, development and unit/organization equipment);

 

E. Airdrop-Advanced Personnel and Cargo Airdrop Systems;

 

F. Textile Technologies (objectives focus on multi-functional materials and high performance multi-component fibers);

 

G. Modeling and Simulation (objectives focus on individual ground soldier and small unit operational effectiveness and survivability);

 

H. Warfighter Advanced Technologies (objectives focus on soldier intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and information operations);

 

I. Sustainability Logistics-Basing, Science, and Technology Objective- Demonstrations (SLB-STU-D).
