Funding-Limited
Submission – American Heart Association (AHA) – Strategically Focused
Prevention Research Network Request for Applications;
December 16, 2013
The
American Heart Association has issued a Request for Applications (RFA) with the
intent to fund four prevention research centers. Center proposals should
address the topic of cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention via a
continuum of prevention research from primordial (the prevention of risk
factors) to primary (the prevention of CVD and stroke), to secondary (the
prevention of recurrent disease and complications) prevention, which can bring
together multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary teams.
Amount:
The
AHA will support Research Centers at a total of 3.7 million (10% indirect
costs) over a period of four (4) years.
Limited
Submission: Only
one Center proposal, including multiple research project proposals, may be
submitted by an institution.
Internal
Competition: Because
the AHA limits the number of applications an institution may submit, the
University of Kentucky has established an internal selection process. Eligible
researchers who wish to be considered for this program should send the
following information to the Office of the Vice President for Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu and
a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Monday, December 16, 2013:
The
Vice President for Research will appoint a committee to review the material and
make recommendations as to the University's nominee. All applicants will be
notified of the results.
(Requested)
Letter of Inquiry deadline: December 16, 2013
Full
proposal deadline:

Questions
about the submission process may be sent to Ms. Annette Evans in the Office of
