Funding-Karri Casner Environmental Sciences Fellowship; January 4, 2010

The Tracy Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment (TFISE) will be accepting proposals for the Karri Casner Environmental Sciences Fellowship for the 2010 spring semester from November 16, 2009 through January 4, 2010. Only one application per faculty advisor per review period will be considered.

The primary role of the Karri Casner Environmental Sciences Fellowship is to provide partial support of graduate-level research in environmentally related studies for University of Kentucky students. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, the biological, ecological, chemical, and physical processes that affect water quality, air quality, soil quality, and ecosystem health. Applicants must have at least a 3.25 undergraduate GPA and a 3.5 graduate GPA. The TFISE strongly encourages women, minorities, and persons with disabilities to participate fully in this fellowship program. Priority will be given to programs that provide benefits to or have implications for Kentucky.

Funds are available to full-time, degree-seeking graduate students for assistance with expenses relating to thesis or dissertation research, as well as for travel to present research at professional meetings, as follows:

The research topic and trip must be approved by a committee appointed by the TFISE.
