Description
The purpose of this RFA is to identify
U.S. implementing organizations that are results-oriented, can develop and
implement innovative and cost-effective programs, and have the capacity to
field highly qualified volunteers to support international agricultural
development, with an emphasis on improving private agricultural operations.
Recipients of funding under this RFA may implement programs relating to all
aspects of agricultural production and post-harvest activities, such as
processing, marketing, credit and input supply, as well as improved
agri-business management, environmental conservation, rural development, and
improved policy and regulatory regimes.
The Recipient’s F2F Program goal should be to generate
rapid, sustainable and broad-based food security and economic growth in the
agricultural sector. A secondary goal should be to increase the American
public’s understanding of international development issues and programs and
international understanding of the U.S. and U.S. development programs. The
Recipient’s F2F Program objective should focus on one or more of the following
Sub-Elements of the U.S. Foreign Assistance Framework Agricultural Program
Area:
a) Increase agricultural sector productivity and
profitability
b) Improve conservation and sustainable use of
environmental and natural resources
c) Expand agricultural sector access to financial services
d)
Strengthen agricultural sector institutions.
