Funding-Fulbright Scholars
Program - New Postdoctoral Scholar Award Deadline; January 15, 2015
Good afternoon,
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is pleased to announce a new initiative to
better accommodate the interests and commitments of early career scholars. There
is now an additional application cycle for a select number of 2015-2016
postdoctoral awards, with a deadline of January
15, 2015.
Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar Awards are open to U.S. scholars
who have recently completed their doctoral degrees (or other terminal degree) –
typically within the five previous years. These grants present an excellent
opportunity for recently minted PhDs to deepen their expertise, acquire new
skills, work with additional resources, and make connections with others in
their field.
When you registered for My Fulbright, you indicated an interest in Europe. The
following awards are based in that region:
Belgium - Award #5548, Fulbright Postdoctoral
Scholar Award: Belgium, EORTC
The European Organization
for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) is a leading cancer therapy and
research center located in Brussels, Belgium that is seeking postdoctoral
candidates who will receive training in the methodology of cancer clinical and
translational research using data from EORTC databases. Candidates should have
an interest in cancer clinical and translational research.
European Union - Award #5547, Fulbright Postdoctoral
Scholar Award: European Union, EUI (Florence)
The selected candidate will spend nine
months at the European University Institute in Florence, focusing on developing
professional skills such as teaching, academic writing and publishing, and job
market presentation within the field of EU studies. Applicants should have a
demonstrated interest in EU studies that is represented through the publication
of articles which carry observations, prognoses, or suggestions for current
topics important to the transatlantic relationship.
France - Award #5546, Fulbright Postdoctoral
Scholar Award: France, Nord Pas de Calais
Situated at the heart of the
"Golden Triangle" of London, Paris, and Brussels, the Nord Pas de
Calais boasts a longstanding tradition of research. The Nord Pas de Calais
region welcomes candidates in the hard and social sciences as well as the
humanities, including museum conservation, culture and preservation, and visual
art creation.
I hope you will share this information with postdoctoral scholars in your
network. More information can be found on our website, http://www.cies.org/, and the complete listing
of postdoc awards can be found here in the online catalog.
If you are interested in Fulbright opportunities for more senior scholars, the
