Description
The Ford Motor Company Conservation and Environmental
Grants program, a program of Ford
Middle East in partnership with UNESCO, is accepting grant applications from nonprofit
grassroots organizations conducting environmental projects in the Gulf
Cooperation Council States/Levant region.
The program has awarded a total of $1.2 million to more
than one hundred and fifty projects since its inception in 2000.This year marks
the addition of Iraq to the program, which now serves nine countries: Bahrain,
Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab
Emirates also are eligible to apply.
The program annually makes available a total of $100,000
in funding to individuals and nonprofit groups for ongoing projects focused on
conservation engineering, protection of the natural environment, and
environmental education. Projects that are still in the planning or proposal
stages will not be considered.
