Funding-Limited Submission – Providing Support for the Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (COIIN) to Reduce Infant Mortality (HRSA-13-282); July 15, 2013

 

Description: This announcement solicits applications for activities to:

1)     support collaborative learning, innovation and quality improvement efforts to reduce infant mortality and improve birth outcomes by providing guidance and technical assistance on the effective use of collaborative learning approaches as well as quality improvement (QI) principles and practices;

2)     apply evidence-based strategies for reducing infant mortality; and

3)     scale-up interventions to reduce infant mortality by stimulating action across states and among many partners.

 

It is anticipated that this CoIIN cooperative agreement will: 

 

Amount: Approximately $3.0 million is expected to be available annually to fund one (1) cooperative agreement over a three year project period (Federal fiscal years 2013 – 2015).

Internal Competition:  Because HRSA limits the number of proposals to one per applicant, the University of Kentucky has established an internal selection process.  Prospective applicants interested in responding to this program should send the following information to the Office of the Vice President for Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu and a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Monday, July 15, 2013:

  1. Names and departments of the Project Director and project personnel;
  2. Title of program and/or funding opportunity announcement number;

3.     Provide a brief abstract (2 p. max) of the proposed project including the need for the project, methodology and work plan, evaluation measures, and impact.

 

HRSA Deadline: August 5, 2013
