Funding-Limited Submission - Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) - Alliance for Innovation on Maternal and Child Health: Cooperative Agreement Expanding Access to Care for the Maternal and Child Health Population (HRSA-14-011 and HRSA-14-141); July 8, 2014

Description: This program will support organizations in addressing issues facing Maternal and Child Health (MCH) populations and in raising awareness about best practices in health and social programs. Specifically, under this program, each awardee will be responsible for carrying out activities tailored to its target audience. Applicants may apply for Category 1: Collaborative Engagement (HRSA-14-011) or Category 2: Measuring Collaborative Engagement Awardee Activity (HRSA-14-141). Applicants are prohibited from applying to both funding opportunity announcements. In short, Category 1 awardees will identify and disseminate best practices that best meet the needs of MCH populations. Category 2 awardees will analyze how various best practices have been implemented, and track their implementation. The awardees of these cooperative agreements will take into account insurance coverage, benefit package, health care system redesign, and state interagency collaboration.

·         Category 1 – Collaborative Engagement (HRSA-14-011): Awardees will be responsible for engaging key State agencies and offices (i.e., Public Health and Medicaid) on AIM activities related to the 3 defined focus areas and for raising awareness of best practices. The focus areas for Category 1 are: (1) Ensuring continuity of coverage and care for pregnant women and children; (2) improving systems of care for children with special health care needs; and (3) promoting the use of Bright Futures Guidelines for all children. HRSA will award up to 4 collaborative agreements for three years of up to $350,000 per year.

·         Category 2 – Measuring Collaborative Engagement Awardee Activity (HRSA-14-141): Awardees will be responsible for measuring the impact of the Collaborative Engagement awardees, including engaging and collaborating with these awardees and monitoring updates and changes to progress in program priority areas and key activities. HRSA will award 1 collaborative agreement for three years of up to $250,000 per year.
