Funding-Limited Submission – Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) - State Public Health Coordinating Center for Autism (HRSA-12-131); April 9, 2012

 

Description: The purpose of the Combating Autism Act Initiative (CAAI) State Public Health Coordinating Center for Autism (Coordinating Center) is to support and assist States in developing a State system of care to improve the health of infants, children, and adolescents who have or are at risk for developing autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (DD).  The Coordinating Center will accomplish this support by coordinating with the State Autism Demonstration Grantees and developing a strategy for supporting and monitoring the role of State public health, including Title V and other public health programs, in developing a State system of care to assure that children and youth with ASD and other DD receive early and timely identification, diagnosis, and intervention.

 

Amount: This program will provide funding during Federal fiscal years 2012–2016. Approximately $275,000 is expected to be available annually to fund one (1) awardee. Applicants may apply for a ceiling amount of up to $275,000 per year. The project period is five (5) years.

Institutional Limit:  Multiple applications from an institution are not allowed.

Internal Competition:  Because HRSA limits the number of proposals to one application per organization, the University of Kentucky has established an internal selection process.  Prospective applicants interested in responding to this program should send a pre-proposal with the following information to the Office of the Vice President for Research at vpr@email.uky.edu and a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Monday, April 9, 2012:

  1. Names and departments of the Project Director, project personnel and key collaborators  or partners

2.     Brief abstract of project to include the objectives, activities, and work plan (1-2 p. max)
