Description
The ASPB
Education Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Society of Plant Biologists
is accepting proposals from ASPB members for projects designed to advance
knowledge and appreciation of plant biology.
Grants of up
to $50,000 will be awarded to support education and outreach projects (not
science research projects) for youth, students, and the general public.
Projects must focus on increasing understanding of the importance of plants for
the sustainable production of medicine, food, fibers, and fuels; the critical
role plants play in sustaining functional ecosystems in changing environments;
latest developments in plant biotechnologies; discoveries made in plants that
have led to improved human health and wellbeing; and the range of careers
related to plant biology or available to plant biologists.
To be
eligible, the applicant must be a current ASPB member.
