Funding-EVALUATION OF
CONSUMER RESPONSE TO LABELING AND OTHER NUTRITION AND HEALTH ISSUES; June 6, 2012
Agency
Department
of Health and Human Services
Description
The
FDA has a requirement for a single vendor to provide data from existing
survey(s) that include questions that are timely and can directly meet the
agency's new needs for consumer information on menu labeling, including
awareness and use of calorie information, front-of-package nutrition labeling,
including awareness and use of the industry-developed Facts Up Front icon,
healthcare provider perception and practice of nutrition counseling, and a new
food safety media campaign. To enable the agency to track and evaluate consumer
impacts of menu labeling and the icon, the survey should provide baseline
information about consumer awareness and use of menu labeling and the icon. In
addition, the survey should collect the information at least three times in a
year, be planned for re-administration in 2013 and thereafter, and use a mode
of data collection for the purposes of the stated purposes. Please see the
attached solicitation.
