Funding-Limited
Submission – New Access Points to Establish Health Service Delivery Sites;
September 14, 2010
The
purpose of the New Access Points (NAP) opportunity is to establish health
service delivery sites to improve the health of the Nation's underserved communities
and vulnerable populations by assuring access to comprehensive, culturally
competent, quality primary health care services.
A
new access point is a new full-time service delivery site(s) for the
provision of comprehensive primary and preventive health care services that
will improve the health status and decrease health disparities of the medically
underserved and vulnerable populations to be served. New access points
will address the unique and significant barriers to affordable and accessible
primary health care services for the specific population and/or community
targeted by the application. Every NAP application is expected to
demonstrate compliance (or have a plan for compliance within 120 days of a
grant award) with the requirements of section 330 of the PHS Act, as amended
and applicable regulations.
Institutional
Limit/Internal Competition: Because the Health Resources Services
Administration limits the number of proposals to one application per
organization, the University of Kentucky has established an internal
selection process. Prospective applicants interested in responding to
this program should send a pre-proposal with the following information to
the Office of the Vice President for Research at vpr@email.uky.edu and a copy to their
Associate Dean for Research by Tuesday, September 14, 2010:
