Submission – USDA – Children, Youth, and Families At-Risk Sustainable Community
Projects (CYFAR SCP - USDA-NIFA-SLBCD-005657); March 14, 2016
Purpose: The purpose of the Sustainable Community Projects (SCP) is to improve the
quality and quantity of comprehensive community-based programs for at-risk
children, youth, and families supported by the Cooperative Extension System.
Collaboration across disciplines, program areas, and geographic lines, as well
as a holistic approach that views the individual in the context of the family
and community, are central to Sustainable Community Projects.
Each CYFAR project is encouraged to select a USDA
Strategic Goal and/or a Research, Education and Economics (REE) Challenge Area
applicable to the project. Applicants are encouraged to review this entire
solicitation (link provided below).The CYFAR Program supports the following
goals of the REE Action Plan:

This program is offering 2 project areas: New SCP and SCP Joint Project.
Project
Period/Funding Amount:
Total funds available for all new SCP awards is
$480,000. Each new SCP applicant may request $80,000 for year 1 and $140,000
per year for years 2-5. New SCP Joint applicants may request up to $160,000 for
year 1 and $280,000 per year for years 205.
Institutional Limit: 1 new SCP Project
or new SCP Joint Project

Competition: To participate in the
University’s selection process, researchers are to submit the
following material, assembled into a single PDF file, to the Office of the Vice
President for Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu and a copy to their
Associate Dean for Research by Tuesday, February 16, 2016:
