Funding-NASA -- ROSES 2014: Climate Indicators and Data Products for Future National Climate Assessments; February 2, 2015

Agency

NASA

Description

NASA is a major contributor to global climate research and related environmental assessment activities, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Climate Assessments and the World Meteorological Organization/United Nations Environment Programme (WMO/UNEP) Ozone Assessment Reports. NASA has made a similarly significant contribution to the U.S. National Climate Assessment (NCA) (http://nca2014.globalchange.gov), a central component of the 2012-2021 U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP), and intends to continue supporting future NCA activities. The USGCRP plans to implement the future NCA by drawing from the most recent assessment lessons learned and moving to implement key perspectives regarding the sustained assessment process (http://www.globalchange.gov/what-we-do/assessment). This solicitation seeks to motivate research responding to the vision of the sustained assessment by increasing the knowledge base and capacity needed to enable the effective integration of new scientific understanding into management decisions. This can be achieved by enhancing the production of decision-support tools, initiating continuous improvements in collecting and synthesizing information, and by providing feedback to ongoing research efforts.

Table 2, a summary of all calls under the ROSES solicitation organized by due date, can be found at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2014table2 and Table 3, organized by subject area can be found at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2014table3. Interested proposers should monitor http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ or subscribe to the electronic notification system there for additional new programs or amendments to this ROSES NRA through February 2015, at which time release of a subsequent ROSES NRA is planned. Questions concerning general ROSES NRA policies and procedures may be directed to Max Bernstein, Lead for Research, Science Mission Directorate, at sara@nasa.gov.
