Funding-John P. Wyatt Fellowship award; December 2009

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce the John P. Wyatt, M.D. Traveling Fellowship.  A $10,000 award will be made to a UK scientist for the purpose of studying and disseminating information related to environmentally-caused diseases.  A maximum of $3,500 will go to the UK researcher, with the balance to be used to cover the travel expenses and an honorarium for an external symposium speaker(s).

Interested faculty and senior research staff are to submit the following information to Ms. Kathy Stanwix-Hay (stanwix@uky.edu) in the Office of the Vice President for Research by Tuesday, December 1:

• brief proposal outlining the purpose and significance of the research and topic for the symposium (2-3 pages)
• budget
• name of suggested external invited speaker(s)
• curriculum vitae of the PI

Selection of the recipient will be made by a committee of researchers and administrators appointed by the Vice President for Research.  The fellowship will be awarded in early January 2010 and the symposium must be held no later than December 31, 2010.  Please contact Kathy Stanwix-Hay, stanwix@uky.edu or 257-5090 if you have questions.
