Synopsis
The Division of Ocean
Sciences (OCE) offers Research Initiation Grants in an effort to increase the
participation of under-represented groups in the ocean sciences. Research
Initiation Grants provide start up funding for
researchers who have been recently appointed to tenure track (or equivalent)
positions, with the twin goals of enhancing the development of their research
careers and broadening the participation of under-represented groups in ocean
sciences. In this solicitation, the term under-represented groups will refer to
and include the following: women, persons with disabilities, African Americans,
Hispanics, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders.
