Description
The
mission of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is to protect human health
and the environment. The EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD)
conducts timely, mission-relevant, solution-oriented research based on the
principles of integrity, sustainability, and responsiveness to the needs of the
Nation. The research products and outputs are utilized by the EPA to better
determine toxicological hazards, define dose-response relationships, estimate
human exposure characteristics, and assess potential susceptible or vulnerable
populations in support of the Agency’s responsibility to provide risk
assessment, policy analysis, regulatory standards for environmental hazards,
and contribute to sustainable solutions to the Nation’s greatest environmental
concerns. EPA’s ORD seeks applications to enter into cooperative agreements
that will provide training opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students,
and postdoctoral fellows on-site at one of the EPA/ORD National Health and
Environmental Effects Research Laboratory's (NHEERL) Health Divisions, located
at Research Triangle Park and/or Chapel Hill, North Carolina, or Ecology
Divisions located at Gulf Breeze, Florida; Corvallis, Oregon; Newport, Oregon;
Duluth, Minnesota; Narragansett, Rhode Island; and Grosse Ile, Michigan.
