Park Service - Burned Area Restoration, Exotic Vegetation Control and Habitat
Restoration; July 14, 2014
Agency
Name
National
Park Service
Description
The principal purpose of this agreement is to
support and stimulate work, education, and/or training opportunities for conservation
minded interns. This project will provide an opportunity to participate in
resource conservation by assisting with burned area restoration (BAR) and
habitat restoration through the removal and control of exotic vegetation.
Interns will participate in surveying, monitoring, removal, and control of
exotics on a consistent basis within a burned area in order to help promote the
reestablishment and growth of native vegetation, restore wildlife habitat(s),
and restore the natural ecosystem of the burned area. The control of exotic and
non-native weeds and restoration of native vegetation to the burned area will
provide a revitalized wildlife habitat and enhance public enjoyment of the
area.
