CDC - Coordinating Center for Research and Training to Promote the Health of
People with Developmental and Other Disabilities (RFA-DD-12-006); April 9, 2012
Purpose:
The
purpose of this FOA is to solicit applications aimed at strengthening the
nation’s capacity to carry out public health activities in the areas of birth
defects, developmental disabilities, and disability and health. The
objectives are to: (1) Establish a coordinating center for conducting and
coordinating research; (2) Promote the health and well being
of children and adults with disabilities and their families; (3) Conduct
research in support of NCBDDD priorities; (4) Train health and public health
professionals; (5) Communicate and disseminate information with and for
stakeholders and other audiences; and (6) Evaluate and report on findings.

one application per institution (normally identified by having a unique DUNS
number) is allowed.

Competition: Because
CDC limits an institution to one submission, the University of Kentucky has
established an internal selection process. Researchers interested in applying
are to submit the following material electronically to the Office of the
Vice President for Research at vpr@email.uky.edu
and a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Monday, April 9, 2012:

committee will be convened to review the material and make a recommendation as
to the University’s submission. Questions about the submission process may be
