Submission - USDA - Rural Health and Safety Education Program

The
National Institute of Food and Agriculture requests applications for programs
to address the needs of rural Americans by providing health promotion
activities.
The
focus of the Rural Health and Safety Education Program in FY2014 is on
community-based, outreach education and extension programs that provide
individuals and families with:
a) Information as to the value of good
health at any age;
b) Information to increase individual or
family's motivation to take more responsibility for their own
health;
c) Information regarding rural
environmental health issues that directly impact on human health;
d) Information about and access to health
promotion and educational activities; and
e) Training for volunteers and health
services providers concerning health promotion and health care services for
individuals and families in cooperation with state, local and community
partners.

Limited
Submission:
Only one (1) application per land-grant institution will be accepted.
Because
the Department of Agriculture only allows an organization to submit one
application, the
University of Kentucky has established an internal selection process.
Individuals interested in submitting to this program are to submit the
following materials electronically to the Office of the Vice President for
Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu
and a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Tuesday, May 6, 2014:
A
committee will be appointed to review the information and make a
recommendation. Questions about the submission process may be sent to Ms.

The
USDA deadline is
June 6, 2014.
