LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 7, 2011) – The Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative, a statewide initiative to encourage girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), is currently offering mini-grants of up to $1,000. Teachers, community groups and other organizations committed to collaborating, informing and motivating girls are encouraged to apply.

Our grants are funded in collaboration with the Kentucky National Science Foundation (NSF) Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration Kentucky Space Grant Consortium (NASA KY).  Although applications in any STEM area will be considered, priority will be given to mini-grants that align with the research areas supported by KY EPSCoR and NASA KY.  For more information see the website for the National Girls Collaborative Project: http://www.ngcproject.org/kentucky/mini-grants.cfm
