The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, invites applications for a National Center of Excellence for the Prevention of Childhood Agricultural Injury. CDC/NIOSH intends to commit $1.2M in FY 2014 to fund one award. It is anticipated that the total funds available for the entire project period of five years will be approximately $6 million. The estimated total funding (direct and indirect costs) for the first year (12 month budget period) will be $1.2M.

Sponsor priorities and specific requirements are detailed in the complete RFA: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-OH-14-005.html

Internal Competition: Because NIOSH limits an institution to one submission, the University of Kentucky has established an internal selection process. Researchers interested in applying are to submit the following material electronically to the Office of the Vice President for Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu and a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Tuesday, March 25, 2014:

A committee will be convened to review the material and make recommendations as to the University’s submission. Questions about the submission process may be sent to Ms. Annette Evans in the Office of the Vice President for Research (alevan4@email.uky.edu or 257-1663.)

The application is due on May 2, 2014.
