Get those mental wheels turning.
UK’s sustainability leadership is launching a new sustainability grants
program. You may have seen some information which has been released through the
Provost, Research and Finance offices ahead of the formal announcement which
will be done after classed begin next week when everyone is on campus.
The maximum award is $25,000 and grants of various sizes
will be funded (probably a total of 6-8 projects).
Grants can be leveraged with funds from the Student Sustainability Council http://www.sustainability.uky.edu/SSC) as well as TFISE funds for working group projects.
An important criterion for selection will be projects which
involve and engage students.

The President’s Sustainability Advisory Committee
is excited to announce the launch of the University of Kentucky Sustainability
Challenge Grant Program. This program is designed to engage multidisciplinary
teams from the University community in the creation and implementation of ideas
that will promote sustainability by simultaneously advancing economic vitality,
ecological integrity and social equity, now and into the future. A total of
$100,000 is available with the awards for individual projects ranging from
$5,000 - $25,000 and the intention of funding 6-8 projects. Proposals are due
October 15, 2014.
