Funding-UK Women & Philanthropy; May 30, 2014

The UK Women & Philanthropy Network is an organization of alumni and friends who have pooled their love for UK, along with their time, talents and resources, to help fund some of the important programs and projects at the University the Kentucky.  Founded in 2007 with a common vision – to build a better UK and a better Commonwealth – Women & Philanthropy continues to grow in size and strength, dedicating the funding provided by members to assist in the life and growth of the University.

W & P has funded a wide array of projects since its inception.  The most recent recipients selected by the membership for funding are:  College of Communication and Information – Study Abroad Scholarships;

College of Fine Arts, Symphony Outreach and Service; Gatton College of Business & Economics MBA Center, Increasing Opportunities for Women in the MBA Program; Honors Program, Highly Competitive Internships Summer Support Program; Robinson Scholars Program, Robinson Leaders Awards; and Office for Student Success, Sophomore Smash: Peer to Peer Information Network.

The University of Kentucky Women & Philanthropy Network is calling for submission of proposals for potential funding in 2015.  As an administrator responsible for an academic or support area, you are receiving this invitation for application.  We are asking that you consider priorities in your college or programs that focus on the areas of scholarships, research and programs.  If you determine that your college/program has priorities in these areas that need funding, please share this application and direct them to submit the attached application via email to Paula L. Pope at the UK Office of Development, ppope@email.uky.edu, no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2014.

All proposals will be reviewed by the Women & Philanthropy Network Leadership Council.  Selected proposals will be presented on November 6, 2014 to the W&P Network membership who will vote for the proposals of their choice.  Funding will be awarded according to the number of votes received for each proposal, and awards will be made in early 2015.  Please note that Women & Philanthropy funds cannot be used for endowments, start-up costs for new programs, or equipment.
