Funding-UK Women & Philanthropy;

The UK Women
& Philanthropy Network is an organization of alumni and friends who have
pooled their love for UK, along with their time, talents and resources, to help
fund some of the important programs and projects at the University the
Kentucky. Founded in 2007 with a common vision – to build a better UK and
a better Commonwealth – Women & Philanthropy continues to grow in size and
strength, dedicating the funding provided by members to assist in the life and
growth of the University.
W & P has
funded a wide array of projects since its inception. The most recent
recipients selected by the membership for funding are: College of
Communication and Information – Study Abroad Scholarships;
College of Fine
Arts, Symphony Outreach and Service; Gatton College
of Business & Economics MBA Center, Increasing Opportunities for Women in
the MBA Program; Honors Program, Highly Competitive Internships Summer Support
Program; Robinson Scholars Program, Robinson Leaders Awards; and Office for
Student Success, Sophomore Smash: Peer to Peer Information Network.
The University of Kentucky Women & Philanthropy Network is calling for
submission of proposals for potential funding in 2015. As an
administrator responsible for an academic or support area, you are receiving
this invitation for application. We are asking that you consider
priorities in your college or programs that focus on the areas of scholarships,
research and programs. If you determine that your college/program
has priorities in these areas that need funding, please share this application
and direct them to submit the attached application via email to Paula L. Pope
at the UK Office of Development, ppope@email.uky.edu,
no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2014.
All proposals
will be reviewed by the Women & Philanthropy Network Leadership
Council. Selected proposals will be presented on November 6, 2014 to the
W&P Network membership who will vote for the proposals of their
choice. Funding will be awarded according to the number of votes received
for each proposal, and awards will be made in early 2015. Please note
that Women & Philanthropy funds cannot be used for endowments, start-up
costs for new programs, or equipment.
