Funding-Limited
Submission – United States Agency for International Development (USAID) –
Building Constituencies for Democracy and Human Rights;
June 20, 2013
The
Building Constituencies for Democracy program will strategically engage new advocates
for democracy across a broad range of organizations and interest groups that
have a stake in democratic institutions and processes, yet do not engage on
those issues when they come under threat. By increasing the landscape of
stakeholders for democracy in target countries, this regional program will seek
to increase the political cost to initiatives that undermine democratic rights
and principles.
USAID
intends to support a Cooperative Agreement totaling up to $600,000 a year, for
a total level of $2.4 million over a four-year period. Cost sharing is
encouraged, but not required, for this award.

information can be found at:

Organizations
may submit only one (1) application for the Cooperative Agreement.
Because
USAID only allows an organization to submit one application, the University of
Kentucky has established an internal selection process. Individuals
interested in submitting to this program are to submit the following
materials electronically to the Office of the Vice President for Research at limitedsubmissions@uky.edu and
a copy to their Associate Dean for Research by Thursday, June 20, 2013:
·
Names
and departments of UK Project Director and key personnel
·
An overview, including
activities, goals, and objectives, of the proposed program.
·
Budget,
including any proposed match and potential source of funds. Note:
Because of ongoing commitments, the Office of the Vice President for Research
is unable to provide matching funds.
A
committee will be appointed to review the information and make a
recommendation. The USAID deadline is July 8, 2013. Questions about
the submission process may be sent to Ms. Annette Evans in the Office of the
Vice President for Research (alevan4@email.uky.edu
or 257-1663).
