Funding-USDA NIFA Funding Opportunities; January 14, 2009

 

Several funding opportunities through USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (formerly CSREES) have become available in the last couple of weeks.

 

Southern Regional IPM Grants (S-RIPM): NIFA announces the availability of funds and requests applications for the Regional Integrated Pest Management Competitive Grants Program – Southern Region (S-RIPM) for fiscal year (FY) 2010 to help achieve National IPM goals by increasing the supply and dissemination of IPM knowledge and by enhancing collaboration among stakeholders. The amount available for support of this program in FY 2010 is approximately $ 800,000. Deadline: December 17, 2009 at 5 PM ET. Specialty Crops Research Initiative: The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) is pleased to announce the release of the FY 2010 Request for Applications (RFA) for the Specialty Crop Research Initiative (SCRI).   The purpose of this program is to provide support for and encourage the development and implementation of integrated pest management (IPM) practices, tactics and systems for specific pest problems while reducing human and environmental risks. Deadline: January 14, 2010 at 5 PM ET. Extension IPM Coordination and Support: The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) (formerly the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES)) is pleased to announce the release of the FY 2010 Request for Applications (RFA) for the Extension Integrated Pest Management Coordination and Support Program (EIPM-CS).

The primary goal of the EIPM-CS program is to support state and local contributions in advancing the goals of the National Road Map for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) by addressing priority needs associated with the coordination, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of extension IPM programs.  Support projects should also advance regional issues of shared importance. Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI): The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) (formerly the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES)) is pleased to announce the release of the FY 2010 Request for Applications (RFA) for the Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI).  The primary goal of the OREI program is to solve critical organic agriculture issues, priorities, or problems through the integration of research and extension activities.
