Description
This
Annual Program Statement (APS) disseminates information about USAID/LAC
Bureau’s Phase II Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA II)
program and provides prospective grantees with an opportunity to develop and
submit applications for funding to help meet the objectives of ICAA II
Intermediate Result 1 -- Selected Landscapes Managed Sustainably. This APS
requests applications for landscape-level program proposals that support the
broader objectives of the ICAA II program, which are as follows: a. Reduced
rates of deforestation and biodiversity loss b. Key aspects of Natural Resource
Governance functioning effectively c. Increased Livelihood Quality and
Sustainability. Pending the availability of funding, LAC anticipates awarding
four to six grants or cooperative agreements to fund applications submitted in
response to this APS. Each agreement will run for approximately four-five
years. Applications are welcome from U.S. and non-U.S. Non-Governmental
Organizations (NGOs), education institutions, partnerships and consortia.
Applicants for funding under this APS should indicate clearly and succinctly
how their proposed activities will contribute to an improved condition of
biologically significant areas, including mutually agreed performance
indicators and benchmarks (both quantitative and qualitative) to measure these
results. The final decision for funding will be based on both a technical
review and the availability of USAID funding. USAID reserves the right to fund
one or more or none of the applications which may be submitted.
