The
objective of the Biomedical Research Grant is to provide seed monies to investigators
researching the mechanisms of lung disease and general lung biology.
The
American Lung Association is committed to its mission to save lives by
improving lung health and preventing lung disease. The Association is focused
on the following mission-related Strategic Planning Goals:

Eliminate
tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases
·
Improve
the air we breathe so it will not cause or worsen lung disease
·
Reduce
the burden of lung disease on patients and their families
The
American Lung Association is particularly interested in highly meritorious
research projects focusing on these goals in the following areas: air
pollution, asthma, COPD, lung cancer and tobacco.
Award
Information:
Biomedical Research Grants are $40,000 per award year. No more than 25% of the
requested budget may be used for an awardee's salary
and/or fringe benefits and no more than 30% of the total award budget may go to
fund the purchase of permanent equipment.
Duration: Biomedical Research Grants are
subject to annual review and may be granted for up to two years.
