Funding-Specialty Crop FY 2011 Grant

Attached is the application guideline document for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program 2011 funds. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is conducting a competitive process for all eligible applicants for projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of Kentucky’s specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruit, horticulture and nursery crops-including floriculture). Based on specialty crop cash receipts, USDA has awarded Kentucky an approximate $250,000 for projects.

Applications

The maximum
award of project can be up to $75,000 for a project duration of two years
and ten months.

Eligible
entities include: eligible commodity groups, ag organizations, colleges and universities,
producers, municipalities, state agencies, and relevant nonprofits
· List of potential project areas are included in the grant application manual (but projects are not limited to these areas)
