Funding-Specialty Crop FY 2011 Grant Opportunity; June 15, 2011

 

Attached is the application guideline document for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program 2011 funds.  The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is conducting a competitive process for all eligible applicants for projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of Kentucky’s specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruit, horticulture and nursery crops-including floriculture).  Based on specialty crop cash receipts, USDA has awarded Kentucky an approximate $250,000 for projects.

GRANT BRIEF:

·       Applications due June 15, 2011
·       The maximum award of project can be up to $75,000 for a project duration of two years and ten months.
·       Eligible entities include: eligible commodity groups, ag organizations, colleges and universities, producers, municipalities, state agencies, and relevant nonprofits

·       List of potential project areas are included in the grant application manual (but projects are not limited to these areas)

The application manual is large, but has all of the needed information contained so you should not have to go outside of that manual. Please pass along to any interested parties that may benefit from these grant monies.
