General Information-PDO Is disseminating the following
information on behalf of Dr. Lou Hersh, Director of
the NIH-funded COBRE for the Center for Molecular Medicine.
Announcement
The University of Kentucky Center for Molecular Medicine sponsors three
scientific cores for use by researchers at the University of Kentucky. These include a Protein
core providing services for the production and characterization of
proteins, an Organic synthesis core
synthesizing small molecules not commercially available, and a Genetic Technologies core producing recombinant
virus and other molecular biological reagents.
These cores, sponsored in part by a Center Of Biological Research
Excellence grant, through the National Institute of General Medicine, provide
low cost services to facilitate the research of its users. For University of Kentucky faculty the core
service charges are further reduced through supplementation. In addition investigators without or with
limited research funding can apply for vouchers,
which, if approved will cover the cost of the services provided. For further information visit the COBRE
website at: http://cobre.med.uky.edu/ or
