(Announcement) 2019 Igniting Research Collaborations (IRC) Program; June 5, 2019

IRC seeks to increase interdisciplinary scientific engagement and leverage the breadth of expertise across campus to tackle important problems in the Commonwealth. UK is one of eight universities in the nation with the full range of undergraduate, graduate, professional, medical, engineering, and agricultural programs on one campus, which creates distinct opportunities for collaborative research.

The IRC Pilot must be a NEW collaboration of faculty from at least 2 different colleges. The maximum budget amount is $50,000. Typical awards are in the $25,000 - $30,000 range. Salary for 12-month faculty is not allowed, however summer salary is allowed for 9-10 month faculty. The budget period is for eight months, July 1, 2019 – March 1, 2020.

All UK faculty are eligible.

Participation in the IRC Networking event is NOT required for pilot submission. Review will be conducted by ADRs or designated Chairs of participating colleges.
