Information-Reminder –
Deadlines for Fully Routed and Approved Electronic Internal Approval Forms (eIAFs); December 31, 2015
Reminder:
The College has recently had a number of late electronic
internal approval forms (eIAFs) in the last few
months. I just wanted to send a friendly reminder that all electronic
internal approval forms for proposals must be fully routed and approved no
later than 3 working days before the stated submission deadline. This
deadline still applies even when a proposal can be submitted directly by the PI
to the sponsor. Furthermore, working with your College Grants Officer before
submitting any proposal ensures that budgets are correct and application
packages are compliant with requirements. It is within OSPA’s authority to
reject an award made to a proposal that was not properly routed through the
University’s approval process and the Interim VP for Research has given every
indication she will back them up should they make such a decision. Remember
that you do not need to have a finalized budget or a completed proposal in
order to start the eIAF; most of the time you just
need the guidelines, a preliminary budget, a budget narrative, and hopefully a
brief abstract or summary of the proposal to get one circulating.
