Description

L’ORÉAL USA is accepting applications for the For Women in Science Fellowship. The fellowship program honors female scientists at a critical stage in their careers. Since 2003, we’ve awarded 85 postdoctoral women scientists over $4 million in grants. To that end, they are seeking five exceptional female scientists looking to advance their research and serve as role models for the next generation of girls in STEM.

 

Candidates must have completed their PhD and have started in their postdoctoral research position by the application deadline. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to apply.

 

The research described in the applicant’s Research Proposal must be involved in the life, physical/material sciences, engineering, technology, computer science and/or mathematics fields. Specific eligible areas of study include: Anthropology; Astronomy & Planetary Sciences; Atmospheric Sciences; Biochemistry; Biology (Cell, Molecular, Developmental); Biology (Non Cell, Molecular, Developmental), Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Ecology/Environmental Sciences; Engineering; Genetics; Geosciences; Materials Research; Mathematics; Microbiology/Immunology/Virology; Nanoscience; Neuroscience; Nursing Science; Oceanography/Marine Science; Pharmacology/Toxicology; Physics; Physiology; Plant Biology/Physiology. Please note that “eligibility” refers to the proposed research – not necessarily the candidate’s degree or department. For example, a candidate with a PhD in Psychology (an ineligible field) who is proposing research in Neuroscience (an eligible field) is eligible to apply.
