Description:
The mission of the
United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation is to promote research on the diagnosis,
treatment, and cure of mitochondrial disorders and to provide support to
affected individuals and families. To that end, the foundation has issued an RFP
for its 2020 Research Grant Program for basic science, translational research,
or clinical research on any form of mitochondrial disease.
The
following awards will be granted under this RFP:
Accelerators
Prize (Postdoctoral Fellowship Prize) — A single
grant of $50,000 over two years will be awarded to an eligible investigator
within three years of receiving his/her MD, PhD, or equivalent
degree.
Early
Stage Investigator Prize — A single grant of
$100,000 over up to two years will be awarded in support of work aligned with
NIH guidelines for early stage investigators.
Experienced
Investigator Prize — A single grant of $100,000 over
up to two years will be awarded to an independent faculty investigator at any
stage of his/her career.
