FUNDING-NASA
- Graduate Student Fellowship Activity 2018; March 20,
2018
Agency
National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Description
The
NASA Fellowship Activity provides financial support to graduate students
pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral degree in STEM while partaking in graduate
unique research projects under the guidance of an institutional Principal
Investigator in collaboration with NASA Technical Advisers.
The NASA Fellowship Activity provides financial support to individuals
who are early in their graduate education and have demonstrated the potential to
contribute to NASA’s mission and future STEM workforce. The use of innovative
professional development activities motivates learners, which leads to increases
in the number of historically underrepresented and underserved populations, such
as women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans, who are pursuing
advanced degrees in STEM disciplines. This activity develops a supportive
Professional Learning Community (PLC) consisting of the fellowship cohorts,
institutional faculty advisers (PIs), NASA researchers, NASA scientists and NASA
program managers. The PLC intent is to support the graduate’s experience leading
to an increase graduation rate.
