(FOA)-Equity-Focused
Policy Research Funding Opportunity; May 21, 2019
Agency
Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation
Description
The
purpose of this funding opportunity is to support action-oriented research that
advances health equity, builds the knowledge base, and informs policymaking on
income supports for low-income families. Income supports may reduce poverty in
households with young children; provide critical resources to help families
support children’s development; diminish families’ stress levels; and thereby
advance health equity. (RWJF plans to support research on the two other policy
areas addressed in the research agenda—access to ECE and nutrition
supports—through separate calls for proposals.) Evidence generated through
funded projects should inform practice and policy, and guide practitioners and
policymakers (federal, state, and local) in setting priorities and allocating
resources.
Amount:$250,000 for up to 24
months (primary data collection); $75,000 for 12 months (secondary data
analysis); up to $500,000 for up to 30 months (implementation/testing innovative
strategies to expand access to income supports, participatory research methods
and/or substantial community partnerships)
