Seminar Overview
This
presentation will augment participant’s understanding of strategies
that seek to improve health by increasing the consumption of fresh
fruits and vegetables and decreasing the consumption of
sugar-sweetened beverages. Participants will gain first-hand insights
regarding the use of healthy food incentives at farmers’ markets
through the Ecology Center’s California wide Market Match program.
Participants will also gain first-hand insights into passing the
nation’s first municipal soda tax and the current programs funded by the
tax to reduce the consumption of unnecessary calories through
sugar-sweetened beverages.
