FUNDING-
The University of Kentucky Women & Philanthropy Network is calling
for submission of proposals for potential funding in 2018 (see attached
application form); July 6, 2018
In
2007, a group of women with diverse talents and experiences came together with
a common vison: to build a better UK and a better Commonwealth.
They organized the University of Kentucky Women
& Philanthropy Network, creating a new culture of service and philanthropy
through their gifts of time, talent and resources.
Since
then, the Women & Philanthropy Network has grown in size and strength as it
has recognized the essential and continuing role of women in the life and
progress of the University. Network members have increased the number and
quality of opportunities available for UK students, faculty and staff.
The major areas of focus for combined giving have been scholarships, research
and programs.
Proposals
for funding not to exceed $50,000 are accepted in the spring of each year from
colleges and university programs; there is limit of two proposals per
college/program and they must be approved by the dean or vice president of the
respective unit. The entire membership ranks the proposals late in the
calendar year and funds are available to the successful proposals in the
following January.
By
harnessing the passion, skills and capabilities of a large number of
individuals, the UK Women and Philanthropy Network is playing an important role
in helping UK be the University for Kentucky.
