Description
Solicitation
No. W81XWH-17-R-0024 will be issued on or about 28 September 2017 and offers
will be due on 27 October 2017 at 3:00 PM. The Government requirement is for
non-personal support services to provide a continuation of research analysis to
catalog the nutritional profile of ration components for USARIEM, Natick, MA.
The requirement is to chemically analyze ration components for their
nutritional value. The Military Nutrition Division (MND) of USARIEM has an
ongoing research initiative entitled the Ration Analysis Program that aims to
accurately catalog the nutritional composition of the current ration components
available for purchase and consumption by Warfighters both in theater and
during training scenarios. The end product of the Ration Analysis Program is a
cumulative database with requirements to include single item comparisons of
nutritional content.
A
better understanding of the nutritional composition of ration components will
aid in the research mission of the MND, to optimize Warfighter health and
performance through nutrition. These analyses require modern equipment,
knowledgeable staff, and consistency of analysis techniques as well as
stringent quality control methods.
