Description
The
American Psychological Foundation is inviting applications for its Wayne F.
Placek Grant program.
Through
the program, grants of up to $9,000 will be awarded for empirical research in
any field of the behavioral or social sciences on any topic related to lesbian,
gay, bisexual, or transgender issues.
The
foundation encourages research that addresses the following topics:
heterosexuals' attitudes and behaviors toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender (LGBT) people, including prejudice, discrimination, and violence;
family and workplace issues relevant to LGBT people; and special concerns of
the LGBT population that historically have been underrepresented in scientific
research.
To
be eligible, applicants must be either a doctoral‐level researcher or a
graduate student affiliated with an educational institution or 501(c)(3)
nonprofit research organization. Graduate students and early-career researchers
are encouraged to apply.
