National Science Foundation: Ins and Outs from a Temporary Insider

Presenter:                     Dr. Lawrence Gottlob, NSF Program Director

 

Take advantage of the resources available from a UK faculty member currently on assignment at the National Science Foundation (NSF).  Dr. Lawrence Gottlob, Associate Professor of Psychology, is in his second year at NSF as Program Director of Perception, Action & Cognition in the Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences.   

 

On Tuesday, November 1, Dr. Gottlob will present an overview of the NSF, discuss the “ins” and “outs” of how the agency handles various programs, and share his insights and offer suggestions on strategies for seeking and securing awards from this major funding agency. He also has experience with various NSF cross-disciplinary initiatives including Computational Neuroscience, Cyber-enabled Discovery, Science and Technology Centers, and the Major Research Instrumentation Program.

 

In addition to a question and answer session during the two hour workshop, participants will have an opportunity to network with Dr. Gottlob and others at a reception following the session at 4:30 in the Young Library Gallery.
