The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced the final phase of its ongoing two-year initiative to enhance peer review processes. Join the Proposal Development Office and your colleagues in learning about the new requirements, including the shorter, restructured NIH application.

What?

• NEW forms and application packages (paper PHS 398 and electronic SF 424 (R&R) to be issued in December 2009:

· New application instructions

· Shorter application page limits

· New content structure for NIH Research Plan, Biographical Sketch, Facilities and Resources pages

Who?

• All PIs submitting competing applications (new, resubmission, renewal, revision applications)

When?

• Fiscal year 2011 funding (due dates on or after January 25, 2010)
